– HONGOTIL COMPOUND

Topical Antifungal and Antibacterial Cream

COMPOSITION

Each 100g of cream contains:

Dexamethasone (as acetate)              0.04g

Clotrimazole                                      1g

Gentamicin (as sulphate)                  0.10g

Excipient q.s.                                     100g

INDICATIONS

HONGOTIL Compound Cream is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and fungi, with marked inflammatory component, atopic and contact dermatitis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is contraindicated in individuals with sensitivity to corticosteroids, topical clotrimazole and/or gentamicin. Contraindicated in cases of cutaneous tuberculosis and viral skin infections: herpes simplex, smallpox and chickenpox.

PRECAUTIONS

In pregnancy and lactation, use under strict medical supervision because, if used in large quantities and for long periods, corticosteroids are absorbed systemically. Dot not use in babies, as topical corticosteroids may be absorbed systemically. Do not use in children under 1 year. Appropriate studies on the relationship of age to the effects of topical gentamicin and clotrimazole have not been conducted in children under 1 year old. Children over 1 year have not shown pediatric-specific problems that would limit the use of this medicine.

In geriatric patients, purpura and lacerations may occur on skin or subcutaneous tissues of deep fascia by the use of topical corticosteroids. The presence of other diseases (e.g. diabetes mellitus, skin tuberculosis, conditions causing skin thinning and easy ulceration) may affect the use of this medicine, as it contains topical dexamethasone.

Do not apply on the face.

Do not apply for more than seven days.

In case of hypersensitivity reactions such as allergic contact dermatitis, rash, urticaria, blisters, burning, itching, peeling, redness, swelling or other signs of irritation not present before therapy, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor.

WARNING

When used for long periods of time, do not cover or wrap the skin area being treated unless directed by the doctor, as it may produce systemic effects by absorption of dexamethasone. Comply with the full course of therapy. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of the reach of children. Store at temperature below 30°C. Avoid freezing. Close tube after use.
